Woman Takes The Shoes Off Her Feet To Help Homeless Man In The Cold

Anyone who lives in a cold part of the world does not need to be told that December is a rough time of the year. Even if you have everything necessary to stay bundled up, you still get cold, but if you are struggling just to keep shoes on your feet, it can be a miserable experience.

That is what many homeless people experience and sometimes, they will put boxes on their feet in order to provide some insulation. Recently, a homeless man walked into a liquor store in Minnesota, and he got more than he bargained for.

One of the workers at the store, Leia “Ace” Thomas, saw the homeless man come in looking for boxes. She knew why he was there, but she did more than give him boxes, she showed him extraordinary human kindness.

In a Facebook post, the owner of the store said: “We all know that December in Minnesota can be a very cold time of year. A homeless man came in looking for boxes he could use as makeshift shoes.”

When he did, Thomas called for him and took the shoes off of her own feet and gave them to him. She didn’t even care that she was giving away a pair of purple Nike air Jordans, which are very expensive.

The owner of the store said: “This is a true example of empathy, compassion, and holiday cheer. We can all appreciate a story like this during the holiday season.”

Nike heard about what she did and the kindness that she showed to the homeless man by giving him some shoes. The @nicekicks Instagram account posted an update, showing Thomas holding a new pair of shoes to replace the one she gave away.

Apparently, Nike had overnighted the new pair of Custom 7’s and surprised her at work the next day. They also provided some other surprises along with the shoes.

It’s nice to hear some positive news, and this is certainly one that deserves our attention.
