Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively made a major announcement on Monday evening. They are going to be offering a sizable donation to non-profit organizations that are looking to help feed those who are affected by the coronavirus. Those who are in need are going to benefit immensely from their kindness. Their donation is going to be split between Food Banks Canada and Feeding America.
Of course, Ryan could not resist making a joke while he was offering the donation. He said that we should all be calling someone who is in need of human connection. According to Ryan, Hugh Jackman can be reached at 1-555-HUGH. There’s a sad face emoji in between the ‘555’ and ‘HUGH’, so be sure to include that on your keypad if possible. “Leave room for joy,” Reynolds said.
This is one star who has been sure to do just that. His Instagram post offered a much needed moment of levity to those who found themselves in need of a laugh. He had some choice words for the coronavirus, too. Anyone who has seen his Deadpool films can probably guess the word that he chose for the virus. We don’t condone profanity but in this case?
He is right on the money. Blake Lively’s message was a similar one and it seems that Ryan is rubbing off on her. She was sure to include a joke about Ryan’s desire to “socially distance” himself from his mother in law. It’s all in good fun, of course. We are just glad to see so many celebrities who are willing to step up to the plate and help those who are in need.
At a time like this, all Americans of all backgrounds need to band together. If we are going to get through this challenging time, we must pick each other up and help those who are less fortunate than ourselves. Dan Nisbet is the vice president of Major Gifts at the Feeding America food bank. He says that these donations from Blake and Ryan are going to help them to achieve all of their objectives.
Feeding America is grateful to the couple for the donation that they have provided. They are also grateful to everyone who has been willing to offer their assistance. We are facing unprecedented times as a nation and we must all pitch in to help one another. Please share this story with your friends and loved ones, as a means of inspiring them to help those who are less fortunate in their neighborhood.
