Khaled Hosseini, the author of the best-selling book The Kite Runner, recently traveled to northern Iraq as a United Nations Goodwill Ambassador to meet with Syrian refugees. While he was there, he met Payman, an aspiring writer, and Nayleen, who runs a professional beauty salon in the camp. These women have found ways to use their talents to find purpose and meaning while living as refugees.
