It was a story that warmed hearts around the world.
In 2011, Ted Williams became an overnight sensation when a video of him went viral. Interviewed on the side of a road, homeless and holding a sign proclaiming he has a God-given gift but had fallen on hard times, he showed a wonderfully deep and radio-ready voice.
Soon, Williams was inundated with job offers as a voice-over actor and radio host, and he quickly found employment and a home. But that wasn’t the end of the story.
Not long after this second chance occurred, Williams, who had been sober, suffered a relapse due to the overwhelming stress at the speed of his life changes. He entered rehab and now reports that he has remained sober since late 2011. He has since resumed voiceover work, but his biggest passion is giving back to the homeless community.
Watch the video below to see what he’s been up to, and the great work he’s doing now. His new goal is inspiring!
