Tiny House Villages Are Being Built To Save Homeless Veterans
The number of homeless veterans in the United States is so disheartening. It’s a sad reality that over 60,000 of our vets don’t have a place to call home, and that number is only rising.
It’s high time we all step up and do our part to take care of our veterans after they’re out of the military.
One very special organization in Florida is taking action in a huge way.
A nonprofit called the Clara White Mission, located in Jacksonville, is in the process of building a neighborhood of tiny homes just for vets, in the same area as their own headquarters.
Ju’Coby Pittman, the CEO of Clara White Mission, is determined to raise awareness about the problem of homelessness among our veterans. They’ve sacrificed so much for our country, and now they need our help.
These men and women deserve to live out the rest of their lives without worrying where they’re going to sleep at night. They deserve our respect. They deserve comfort, and shelter, and warmth.
And now, thanks to Clara White Mission, at least some of our vets will get just that.
In this tiny home village, veterans can have a place to call home and be able to develop a strong community and support system together. In fact, veterans will be the ones who actually build the houses.
The insides of these tiny homes are just incredible. While each home is less than 200 square feet, once you’re inside, it doesn’t seem “tiny” at all. It’s just the right amount of room.
Tiny homes could be just what the nation needs to eliminate the problem of homelessness. Who needs a full-sized house anyway?
On top of that, the neighborhood will be “going green” as well.
Vets who can’t afford a home of their own will finally be able to get the help that they need.
It’s so heartening to see organizations focus on helping our vets. They deserve all of this and more.
