This Young Lady’s Resilience in Her War-Torn Homeland will Humble You

Saja is 12 years old, lives in Aleppo, Syria, and loves soccer, karate, and gymnastics. Her most precious belonging is her leg. Her left leg was taken by a bombing raid, as were the lives of four of her friends. But Saja cheerfully walks to school on her prosthetic leg every day and does her best to stay positive; you wouldn't think she's a girl caught up in the middle of one of the bloodiest wars of the 21st century.

UNICEF estimates that more than 80 percent of Syrian children have been affected by the conflict. They have lost lives, limbs, and schools. Girls are married off at young ages and boys as young as 7 are drafted into the conflict on all sides.

After watching this video, find out how you can help other children like Saja and refugee families affected by the Syrian war.
