Brad Paisley, who is known for his country music along, with his actress wife, Kimberly Williams-Paisley, did something kind this year and deserve recognition for it. They joined Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez in going along with the frozen meal brand Tiller & Hatch to do the kind deed. The celebrity couple, along with the company, is helping to fight hunger in America.
An announcement from the Paisleys shows that they are helping to donate one million meals to food banks in the United States during September. September is known as Hunger Action Month, and the drive is called the Million Meal Donation Tour.
“We’re on a mission to help those struggling with hunger, and due to the pandemic, it’s a real crisis,” the couple said. “More than 54 million people may experience food insecurity in 2020, including 18 million children.”
The movement got its start on September 8 in New York City and Detroit. It then spread throughout the entire country, moving in every direction. Food banks from 13 different states were affected. Some of those states included Arkansas, California, Missouri, Ohio, Tennessee, and Texas. The tour officially came to an end on September 21.
The Paisleys are no stranger to helping those who are hungry in the United States. A food pantry was opened in Nashville back in 2018, known as “The Store”. It has the appearance of a normal grocery store but people can shop for free groceries. Back in March, weekly food supplies were delivered to elderly residents in neighborhoods near The Store. 2000 meals were also donated by Lopez and Rodriguez at that time.
You can also take part in Hunger Action Month by donating cash or food to your local food bank or pantry.
