TMZ is reporting that the host of Jeopardy!, Alex Trebek, has donated $500,000 to a charity associated with a homeless shelter. They are in Southern California’s San Fernando Valley, and the organization was trying to build a new facility. Thanks to this sizable contribution, the founder of the charity Hope of the Valley Rescue Mission, Ken Craft, said that it is a possibility.
The donation from Trebek is apparently being used for an ultra-ambitious center, known by the name of “Hope Central.” TMC talks about the facility being a 50,000 square-foot structure that houses homeless seniors from the area. The process of looking for properties is slated to start so that ground can be broken in 2021.
This isn’t the first time that Trebek has been so generous. He gave $100,000 to a North Hollywood-based facility that the same organization built. He was able to tour that facility along with his wife, Jean, recently. The facility named the largest room the “Alex and Jean Trebek Multi-Purpose Room.”
Trebek was on his way to another facility in Van Nuys by the same organization. They managed to spot him after making a stop at a local Home Depot. It doesn’t seem like much of a newsworthy item, but check out the hard hat:

According to Craft, the generous donation by Trebek brought him to tears. He also spoke of the message that Trebek gave to them, saying that he hopes his generosity will encourage others to be generous and fight homelessness.Whizzco
