Boy Starts A Successful Plant Business After His Mom Lost Job During The Pandemic

In East Los Angeles, there is an eight-year-old boy named Aaron Moreno who had a vision. His mother had lost her job during the pandemic, so he got busy creating a business to help her make ends meet. In the end, he started a plant business called “Aaron’s Garden.”

According to ABC7, Aaron’s mother, Berenice Pacheco, shared they started the garden because she lost her job. She said: “I live in a shed and we were struggling financially.”

Aaron began his business of selling plants in June from his home. His mother helps and it has taken over much of the yard. At the beginning, however, things were a little different.

Pacheco had $12 to her name and she told him they were going to invest it in his business idea. They purchased succulents to get things started.

Aaron said to ABC7: “She told me if I wanted to do something like just spending money smart and then said ‘I would like to make a business.'”

Pacheco said that there has been a curiosity about plants in her son since he was young. He loves aloe vera the most and he does get some mosquito bites in the yard, so the two really go hand-in-hand nicely. They were thankful that aloe vera helps to heal mosquito bites.

They also set up a Gofundme page and have raised more than $29,000.

“Thank you to all the people that bought a plant from me. It means a lot,” said Aaron.

Aaron plans on fixing his mother’s undocumented status in the United States by hiring an attorney. She had come into the United States on a visa but it has expired. He then wants to try to get a bigger house and bring his sister back home. She’s been living in Mexico for the past 2 years because they didn’t have a proper place to live.
